With the most profound sorrow, the members of the ERGO group say goodbye to Conny Beck.

Conny was a social and environmental accounting researcher and an active member of the Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research, who was passionate about investigating the role of accounting in expressing corporate responsibilities. This interest connected her with our research group, resulting in a constant and fruitful collaboration. She will be remembered for her work and contribution to the social and environmental accounting literature, but most importantly, her courage, sense of duty, kindness, and constant smile.

For all of us who had the pleasure to meet and spend time with her when she visited Burgos in 2018, her imprint will always stay with us, but also with those who met and worked with her after that. She was always keen to help anyone she could, from providing feedback on research ideas to more less-academic recommendations, such as suggesting travel ideas, wines, or even foodie-tours (an activity she really enjoyed). Conny was and always will be a dear friend to all ERGO members.

 We wish you farewell, Conny.
